Recruiting Lead

We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis with an application deadline of August 9th, 2020.

The Role

IDEO is looking for a Recruiting Lead to drive talent acquisition activities for our business across Europe, and collaborate with our recruiting teams across the globe. You can be based in either our London or Munich studios.  At IDEO, Recruiters play a very important role as ambassadors of the IDEO brand. They make the biggest impact by identifying and proactively engaging with potential candidates who align with IDEO’s values, building long term relationships with candidates anchored in reciprocity, managing the candidate experience while balancing expectations of hiring managers, and ensuring an equitable hiring process.

What it Takes

An empathetic person who enjoys building relationships with people, identifying great talent, and connecting them to suitable roles within an organisation. You are curious and passionate about learning how to design and run an equitable hiring process.

You are someone who thrives in a collaborative, ambiguous, and principle-driven (non-rules based) environment. You know what it takes to drive a recruiting process with an agile approach, and ensure that the process is nimble while balancing the expectations of candidates and hiring managers.

Strong organisational skills are needed to manage and prioritise multiple projects, as well as strong facilitation skills to enable fruitful discussions among internal stakeholders. You are a motivated self-starter who is not afraid to ask questions, can push back when needed, and roll up your sleeves to make things happen. The ability to proactively engage with individuals in a way that builds long term relationships, trust, and credibility is an important skill to have in this role.

Prior experience in recruiting a breadth of digital and design talent (such as UI/UX, interaction designer, software developer) is preferred, as well as experience in shaping the employer brand of an organisation.

In This Role, You Will

You’ll use your proven track record in recruiting or an adjacent function to:

  • Be part of a global recruiting team of recruiters who have specialisms in hiring for different disciplines. That collaboration will enable you to lead the entire recruiting cycle for the IDEO London and Munich studios.
  • Lead the full life-cycle of the recruitment process including building pipelines of talent, job postings, coordination of cv flow, diligent correspondence and engagement with candidates and hiring teams, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
  • Proactively build a strong network of prospective candidates with a focus on increasing the diversity of our talent pool, and leveraging tools (such as our CRM) to develop that network.
  • Communicate IDEO’s purpose, work, and employee value proposition to attract individuals who may or may not be familiar with IDEO.
  • Develop and prioritise hiring needs in conjunction with our location leadership teams
  • Providing and facilitating trainings to London and Munich studios
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team across all of our other IDEO locations on global recruiting initiatives

What does IDEO offer you?

IDEO is a place unlike any other. It’s a place where you can solve diverse, complex challenges for our clients or the organisation, alongside thoughtful, intelligent individuals who lead with curiosity, empathy, and optimism. Sure we work hard, but we also intentionally craft moments that allow our community to pause, create, and connect. We encourage our community to bring their whole selves to work, respect the need for work-life balance, and allow for autonomy in the design process and your career.

How to Apply

Please submit both a cover letter and resume. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis with an application deadline of August 9th, 2020.

Commitment to Diversity

At IDEO, we are committed to the work of advancing diversity, equity and inclusion within our organisation and in the world. Our purpose of having disproportionate, world-changing impact through design is directly connected to our ability to bring many different perspectives to the table. This applies to our candidates, the people we hire, the clients and customers we serve, and the communities we learn from in our research.

As a human-centered organisation, we are committed to working with and designing for people of every race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, physical ability or attribute, religion, national origin, or political belief. We recognise that this commitment requires ongoing work and sustained attention, as well as adaptation to new insights and best practices.
