Senior Recruiting and Community Network Lead

In a nutshell:

IDEO Europe is looking for a superstar Senior Recruiting and Community Network Lead to help grow our community of world-class designers and operational talent in IDEO’s London and Munich studios. The role will start with a focus on London to enable the candidate to find their feet through a more narrow focus while maintaining the mindset of it evolving into a pan-European opportunity.

We care as much about culture as expertise and impact, and we want you to help us find incredible creative talent from diverse backgrounds that thinks the same way. Meeting the evolving needs of our business your focus will be on growing our internal community around our core disciplines and capabilities, while at the same time building an external network of contractors, freelancers, specialists and partners that enables us to tap into this community as needed to deliver the full breadth of our clients’ needs.

Why is this role important for IDEO’s work?

IDEO is a business where people are our main asset.

This is an opportunity for you to lead a fundamental part of our business across Europe - you will have oversight and ownership of the recruiting cycle; from developing and prioritising needs in conjunction with our location leadership teams, driving the talent acquisition process in hiring world-class talent, and proactively capturing and building networks that allow us to stay in contact with passive and active full-time candidates. In parallel to this, you will engage with a much larger network of freelancers and experts who can help with our fixed/short term requirements.

As an ambassador of IDEO you will become fluent in our business and our values to help filter great people into internal and external communities. You will have a strategic mindset that allows you to identify future needs and capability gaps in the context of our business and our L&D focus, with an agile approach to filling immediate short term and fixed term requests for team resourcing and studio hiring, rapidly.

Once here you will

  • Lead the full life-cycle of the recruitment processes including building pipelines of talent, job postings, coordination of cv flow, diligent candidate correspondence and engagement, hiring teams, offers and onboarding, as well as maintenance of candidate records and data via our applicant tracking system.
  • Build trusted and highly collaborative relationships with teams across IDEO Europe to participate in business planning, team building, and resourcing for our client relationships and projects. This requires a delicate balance of individual interests, expertise, and business realities, and a high degree of coordination.
  • Proactively spend time identifying and engaging with talent pools, that allow us to effectively address new and existing capabilities, increase the diversity of our talent pools, and reflects levels of seniority – from university students to seasoned executives.
  • Be a proactive and strong communicator – this role relies on excellent written and verbal skills. You should be able to confidently articulate IDEO’s purpose providing examples of our work, coordinate and collaborate with hiring teams across two studios, deliver thoughtful and positive interactions with candidates, and engage with external networks through digital channels and in-person events.

What does IDEO offer you?

It’s a place where you can use creatively solve complex problems for, and with, our clients, alongside thoughtful, intelligent individuals who lead with curiosity, empathy, and optimism.

We certainly work hard, but we also intentionally focus on our culture to design experiences where we pause, create, and connect. We encourage our community to bring their whole selves to work and respect the need for work-life balance.

IDEO provides you with support and development throughout your time here, while allowing for autonomy throughout your career.

IDEO has had studios in Europe for over 30 years. Over that time, we have grown in the scale of our influence and impact. We punch above our weight for our size, and while we still have a long way to go to increase brand recognition amongst the clients we want to work with, our consistent purpose to deliver positive impact through design has meant that we have enabled companies all over the world, and across every industry and sector, to become creatively competitive.
