Recruiter

We will begin reviewing applications in mid February, with an application deadline of Monday, March 2nd, at 8pm ET.

Come create impact with us.

IDEO is a global design company committed to creating positive impact. As early leaders of human-centered design, we keep people at the center of our work. It's a key tenet of design thinking, and even as our methods evolve in response to new, complex challenges, we are always designing solutions for people first. We’re building to learn, and learning as we build, through inspiration, ideation, and implementation. See the big questions we are tackling now or explore some of our recent work.

We are looking for a Recruiter to join our Chicago location and that will collaborate with our recruiting teams across the globe. Recruiters make the biggest impact by identifying great talent who align with IDEO’s values, and manage the candidate experience while balancing the expectations of hiring managers. Their skillset is critical to our business as they’re ambassadors of the IDEO brand and our candidates.

Who we’re looking for

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience (could be coordinating, teaching, recruiting, etc.)
  • Good discretion and sound judgment in dealing with confidential dialogues and information
  • Strong facilitation skills to enable fruitful discussions among colleagues
  • Enthusiastic and motivated self-starter who is not afraid to ask questions and has a natural focus on making things happen
  • Works well with a variety of working styles and personalities
  • Comfortable scheduling interviews

Once here you will

  • Work collaboratively with the Recruiting teams in Chicago and across all of our other IDEO locations
  • Build relationships and partner with hiring managers to understand the business needs of the team and how the new hire will complement and push our work
  • Facilitate internal conversations with interview teams to build alignment on must-have skills/attributes before launching a search, as well as facilitating debrief discussions after interviews to build alignment on next steps
  • Proactively and creatively source candidates
  • Professionally interface with candidates
  • Drive the recruiting process forward by problem solving obstacles or challenges that arise and knowing when and how to involve others as necessary
  • Drive consensus among multiple stakeholders to bring hiring issues to a successful conclusion
  • Manage full life-cycle recruitment processes including job postings, coordination of resume flow, diligent candidate correspondence, and maintenance of candidate records via our applicant tracking system

Commitment to diversity

At IDEO, we are committed to the work of advancing diversity, equity and inclusion within our organization and in the world. Our purpose of having disproportionate, world-changing impact through design is directly connected to our ability to bring many different perspectives to the table. This applies to our candidates, the people we hire, the clients and customers we serve, and the communities we learn from in our research.

As a human-centered organization, we are committed to working with and designing for people of every race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, physical ability or attribute, religion, national origin, or political belief. We recognize that this commitment requires ongoing work and sustained attention, as well as adaptation to new insights and best practices.
