IDEO U, Product Strategist

IDEO U is IDEO’s consumer education brand that supports learning innovation, creativity, and skills for the modern workplace among learners all over the world. 

The Role

IDEO U is seeking a part-time, contract Product Strategist who will play an important role in IDEO U, one of IDEO’s key ventures, and be part of a team delivering the core product experience for IDEO U learners. You’ll shape research, strategy and launch for a new 2022 product initiative as well as help guide a 3 person team supporting the current product experience. You will work with IDEO U’s current product team, enterprise product director, and a cross functional team of full time and contract marketing, ecommerce, and instructional designers to launch and iterate a new IDEO U beta program in 2022. 

Contract Details

This is a part-time contract position for 7-8 months. We estimate 24 hours per week on Tue-Thur of each week in order to work with other team members. This is a fully remote position, accountable to working California/Pacific Time business hours.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead research (guides, interview sessions, desk research) related to a new IDEO U beta program
  • Lead weekly drumbeats related to program launch & iteration as well as ongoing product experience support
  • Review, brainstorm and collaborate with marketing & instructional design partners.
  • Guide & support projects of current IDEO U product team related to the current product experience
  • Work closely with lead instructional designer to develop offer & iterations
  • Own overall launch & iteration schedule and project shaping to meet outcomes

Relevant Experience

We’re looking for someone who has at least five years experience in a product strategy/design or innovation role. He/she will need:

Must haves:

  • Experience launching an iterating a new product or service from 0 to 1
  • Product research & strategy development experience
  • Team guide or mentoring experience
  • Program management experience; leading cross-functional workstreams, able to be a North star across numerous streams of work
  • Experience leading a group of contractors towards a product vision
  • Collaborative mindset

Nice to haves: 

  • Experience with EdTech products
  • Service design experience
