Marketing Operations Lead

In a nutshell:

IDEO San Francisco’s Marketing team is in search of a quant-minded marketer who is passionate about finding new ways to measure and track marketing impact. This individual will support and expand the marketing capabilities of IDEO’s existing efforts by leveraging qualitative information and creatively exploring the use of data.

Why is this role important for IDEO’s work?

IDEO’s brand is both dynamic and experimental. We are looking for someone who is willing to look beyond the usual digital marketing tactics and can help to forge new paths, create new ways of working and who is excited about finding new means to track and point to impact and growth for a primarily B2B business.  

You will be joining a San Francisco Bay Area based team that’s lean, mean, and resourceful. The ideal candidate is not only a self-starter but is very (very) comfortable with ambiguity and a non-hierarchical approach to collaboration, who can run with their own ideas and tasks.

Unlike many growth roles, this one will work in close partnership with the San Francisco Marketing team to formulate impact and success measures for a mainly qualitatively measured B2B business.

Once here you will:

  • Help to set up best practices for tracking Marketing success and impact
  • Work hand in hand with a lean and unconventional marketing team that prioritizes curiosity and experimentation, over traditional growth tactics.
  • Partner with teams across San Francisco to recommend and help implement both reactive and proactive marketing opportunities for the business
  • Partner specifically with business development teams to understand and design feedback loops to measure the success of activity
  • Audits of current activity to recommend tools and systems to help increase Marketing efficiency and productivity
  • Manage growth hacking and experiments from idea generation, analysis, experimentation, to testing

Relevant experience:

  • 3-6 years of experience in a Marketing capacity
  • 1-2 years of experience in a traditional growth or business operations role
  • Sophisticated grasp of Marketing metrics and drivers of impact
  • Adept at measuring Marketing efforts both quantitatively and qualitatively
  • Multi-tasker capable of ideating and testing tools, systems and processes to help track both successes and areas for improvement for Marketing efforts
  • Business-savvy, with comfort across complex global business concepts in areas such as design, technology, strategy, and entrepreneurship
  • Natural problem solver, with curiosity and passion for continual improvement
  • Previous experience working in Marketing for a B2B business a plus
