Digital Transformation Intern

In a nutshell:

IDEO London is in search of an intern to join our Digital Transformation (DiT) team.

What do we mean by Digital Transformation?

IDEO has long been at the forefront of creating change through design, and now we have partnered with Public Digital who have years of experience in DiT and are the team behind the UK's Government Digital Service. Together we are applying the culture, practices, processes, and technologies of the Internet-era on companies and organizations, so they can efficiently build and deliver desirable digital products and services, as well as improve the overall experience for their customers.

Why is this role important for IDEO’s work?

The process of enabling companies to deliver digital services is often as important as the human-centered digital products and services that we design together. IDEO has always focused on positive impact in the world, and as such we think the work of the DiT team is key to our strategy of enabling impact for our clients.

As the cornerstone of the IDEO DiT team, you will be the ‘go to’ person for coordination - understanding the landscape of activities across the company, assisting in the production of content for internal and external audiences, as well as bringing together people from our network including teams, clients, and partners.

Once here you will:

  • Coordinate DiT activities around IDEO including the overarching programme plan and individual projects within it; meetings, workshops, and events both internal and external with our clients and partners.
  • Assist in the development and production of content for the DiT team (eg. internal presentations, client proposals, online articles, blogs, case studies, visual insights and materials for events, client interviews for PR, etc.).
  • Build and foster a community of DiT practitioners across IDEO.
  • Distill trends, ideas, opinions and inspiration from the market, client organisations, and within our company to continue to build IDEO’s unique Point of View on DiT
  • Collaborate with designers across different disciplines (for example Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Organisational Design, Business Design, and Communications Design) and across different projects to push the depth and quality of the content we produce for DiT within client engagements
  • Work closely as needed as a support to the DiT team

What does IDEO offer you?

It’s a place where you can solve complex challenges for our clients or the organisation, alongside thoughtful, intelligent individuals who lead with curiosity, empathy, and optimism.

We certainly work hard, but we also intentionally focus on our culture to design opportunities for us to pause, create, and connect.

We encourage our community to bring their whole selves to work and respect the need for work-life balance. IDEO provides you support and development throughout your time here, while allowing for autonomy for you to steer, grow and develop your career.

IDEO has had a studio in London for over 30 years. Over that time, we have grown in the scale of our influence and impact.
