IDEO’s Design for Learning Studio (D4L), located in San Francisco, is in search of an Interaction Designer with a passion for tackling big questions and a knack for cutting through complexity. We are looking for someone who can't help but see how the things around them could be simpler, clearer, and more connected. You have a particular interest in creating positive social impact and are game to delve into the design of educational experiences. In this role, you'll design ways to scale high touch services and experiences, like one-on-one coaching for college students or special education practices; envision new products and systems to power new school models, find inspiration in new technology to reinvent learning, and bring your elevated sense of design.
At IDEO we create impact through design. Our goal is to create work that is desirable, feasible, and viable. An interaction designer sits right in that sweet spot - they take a human-centered approach to designing digital products and services, quickly turn big picture strategy into tangible prototypes, and craft compelling stories.
IDEO is a place unlike any other. It’s a place where you can solve diverse, complex challenges for our clients or the organization, alongside thoughtful, intelligent individuals who lead with curiosity, empathy, and optimism. Sure we work hard, but we also intentionally craft moments that allow our community to pause, create, and connect. We encourage our community to bring their whole selves to work, respect the need for work-life balance, and allow for autonomy in the design process and your career.
IDEO’s education studio designs products, services, and systems that improve experiences for learners of all ages. This could be as tangible as designing a tablet-based learning platform, and as far-reaching as redesigning an entire education system. We nerd out over education trends and cool kid ideas in equal measure – and we hope you do too.
