Experience Specialist

Role summary:

IDEO San Francisco is seeking an Experience Specialist.  This person will have an inclination to pitch in with whatever is needed in the moment – channeling hospitality and organizational sensibilities and has a knack for relating to all kinds people. The Specialist sees the larger picture of how experiences inspire creativity and cares deeply for the well-being of our network and ourselves.

We expect the Experience Specialist to have a “no task too big, no task too small” attitude with a natural inclination to get their hands dirty (sometimes literally).  This person will have a passion for people and processes, see the big picture and finer details and have a systematic organized approach to work.  

Once you are here you will:

  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the office, in a hands-on manner, in collaboration with the Experience and Facilities teams.
  • Deal with small daily matters in the running of the office, as well as larger aims and goals.
  • Be present in the studio to ensure timely preparation and coordination of meetings and events.
  • Help prioritize requests for meetings, rooms, and catering and resolve conflicts when necessary.
  • Help create impactful experiences including day-to-day activities, weekly events, and longer-term projects.
  • Help coordinate hospitality-focused experiences for clients, guests, and colleagues.
  • Help plan and execute renovations for meeting rooms and other spaces in the office.
  • Help with basic upkeep and maintenance of the physical space.

Relevant experience:

  • At least 3-5  years of experience in a related role.
  • Excellent coordination, time management, and organizational skills. Being able to prioritize and delegate is a must.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with many types of people at all levels.
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with others.
  • An understanding of customer/client requirements.
  • Natural ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Success at managing a high-volume of responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • A “no job too small” mentality.
  • A natural creative flair with ideas and energy to introduce new concepts and innovations.
  • A basic knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
