Design Research Coordinator

In a nutshell:

IDEO Munich is in search of a Design Research Coordinator who will work with project teams to co-design user research plans and recruit participants for user interviews and other types of research that help inform and inspire our design process.

Why is this role important for IDEO’s work?

Design Research Coordinators make the biggest impact by being the cornerstone of our human-centered approach to design thinking.  We count on them to help us find users to give our designers and clients unique perspectives on the problem for which we are designing.  We count on them to show empathy and passion for understanding human behavior.

Once here you will:

  • Show curiosity for the unique concerns and constraints of a variety of industries from medical to consumer products to financial services to manufacturing
  • Help a project team think about research participants that might help inspire a design in an out-of-box way
  • Apply your intuition and instincts while screening respondents to outreach for research participants to ensure they are appropriate for a particular project
  • Co-design and coordinate the logistics behind user interviews, group discussions and events supporting each project team’s design research needs locally and in the field
  • Help the Design Research community build a resource of tools, assets and contacts
