Senior Strategic Operations Analyst, IDEO U

In a nutshell:

IDEO U is in search of a Senior Strategic Operations Analyst who will bring a unique blend of analytical and operational experience and a passion for applying creative problem solving and systems design to new projects and operational innovation.

Why is this role important for IDEO’s work?

As a Senior Strategic Operations Analyst, your biggest impact will be enabling IDEO U’s functional teams (product, content & production and marketing) to plan and achieve business goals. You’ll play an important role in continuing to evolve our foundational financial reporting and forecasting processes and help us create the right moments to pause and learn from our performance in the market. We’re a young start-up within IDEO and our growth is less a formula than it is a series of experiments and learning plans that help us understand what our learners need.  Our functional teams work at full speed and in addition to financial and operational management, you’ll lead key program management functions such as road mapping and new product launch management as well as help plan and execute special operations projects that keep the team moving forward.

Once here you will:

  • Help manage cross-functional teams towards successful product launch (6 launches in the next year)
  • Help provide regular reporting to inform our studios’ financial and operational health
  • Connect with functional budget owners and project leads to help optimize their financial decisions
  • In collaboration with the Business Operations Director, support our studio’s financial & business performance, both in the weeds and above the trees
  • Marry disparate pieces of info from finance, legal, and design teams to provide a holistic perspective that informs thoughtful decision-making and inspire ideas towards better operational efficiency.
  • Continually seek opportunities to help us work smarter via new/refined tools and processes, and help support the team in successfully adopting these new processes
  • Lead special projects as needed

What does IDEO offer you?

IDEO is a place unlike any other. It’s a place where you can solve diverse, complex challenges for our clients or the organization, alongside thoughtful, intelligent individuals who lead with curiosity, empathy, and optimism. Sure we work hard, but we also intentionally craft moments that allow our community to pause, create, and connect. We encourage our community to bring their whole selves to work, respect the need for work-life balance, and allow for autonomy in the design process and your career.

IDEO U is going into its fourth year as an IDEO venture. We are a diverse group of former teachers, online education specialists, writers, experience designers, product managers and marketers who are passionate about helping others transform the way they solve problems through design thinking and creative leadership education. As a member of the IDEO U team, you’ll be working everyday with a team that cares deeply about the work they do and are committed to creating rich & engaging online educational experiences that have real impact. Joining the team now in a period of hyper growth will also not only provide a great learning opportunity but provide you with a chance to help envision what creative online learning looks like and to help define the evolution of IDEO U’s offering to the world.
