In a Nutshell:

As IDEO has grown in both size and complexity, so has our need for stable, interoperable business systems that empower our enterprise, grant insight into the mechanics of our business, and support IDEO’s creative culture.  We are looking for an Enterprise Architect to join our Global Technology team.

The Enterprise Architect will play a critical role in understanding and interpreting IDEO’s business and technical needs into an enterprise architectural vision they will build, oversee and implement.

Why is this role important for IDEO’s work?

Our Enterprise Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and communicating the complex architectures of IDEO’s enterprise system strategy across our nine global locations.  This role will require the person to design, iterate, and be flexible in how they create the future state of our business systems to ensure that they align with our business needs and directions, serve our current needs, and enable new capabilities and outcomes.  They will collaborate with our global technology leadership to ensure that solutions are well engineered, operable, maintainable, delivered on schedule, align to enterprise vision and provide the anticipated business value.

Once here you will:

The Enterprise Architect will work as part of IDEO’s global technology team and will involve working with both location-level and global leadership across IDEO’s global footprint. This individual will be able to apply their proven team leadership skills and demonstrate their ability to design systems that cross multiple business areas and operational models. They will be able to show their strategic skills by applying their holistic thinking capabilities to the integration and operation of many complex components that are configured in a secure, highly available, and highly distributed, manner.

The Enterprise Architect will have the opportunity to develop and drive the delivery of new complex architects and strategy that will support IDEO’s creative culture and future vision. They must be able to reason through, experiment and iterate with implementation models and strategies, while focusing on simplicity, ease of use for the users and adaptability.  The Enterprise Architect will find the balance between budgetary, technical, security and human capital constraints and the long-term optimal vision for our future business systems platform.

What does IDEO offer you?

IDEO is a place unlike any other. It’s a place where you can solve diverse, complex challenges for our clients or the organization, alongside thoughtful, intelligent individuals who lead with curiosity, empathy, and optimism. We work hard and we also intentionally craft moments that allow our community to pause, create, and connect. We encourage our community to bring their whole selves to work, respect the need for work-life balance, and allow for autonomy in the design process and your career.

As an Enterprise Architect you will get to impact at IDEO by having permission to be visionary and influence change through developing, strategizing and delivering new products and services that meet the growing and changing needs of the company. You will also get to do this by being collaborative with your Technology peers.
