Hello, I’m Sally Spinks

Organizational Design Director, IDEO London

I work with clients to design employee experiences that enable people to deliver great customer experiences. I help create the conditions and build the capabilities and tools for design thinking to flourish in organizations. I also coach IDEO teams on embedding employee experience design into client projects. Working with our global and local leadership, I apply design thinking internally to continually evolve our own employee experience.

What you won't learn from my bio:
As part of my weird and wonderful art installations, I knit jumpers for insects.

Joined IDEO:

Full Bio

Sally Spinks is an organizational design director at IDEO London. Sally has always been interested in group behaviors and how they change and shift, particularly in an organizational context. She works with clients to gain insights into the unwritten rules of an organization--how things really work.  Then, utilizing human-centred design, Sally will develop a set of propositions to design internal organizational factors to align the employee experience with the customer experience to enable staff to deliver new services or products. Her clients range from IKEA, Sara Lee, Intercorp, and IHG, through to small not-for-profit organisations.

Alongside working at IDEO, Sally is a practicing conceptual artist. She applies her creativity to devising programs for organizations that help them become more innovative and sustain their approach.

Sally has more than 20 years’ experience in industrial relations, leadership development and organizational design, working mainly in creative organizations like Nickelodeon/Paramount, Penguin Books and the BBC, as well as the public sector.

Sally holds a Master’s Degree in Management Learning from Lancaster University, and a Master’s of Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
