Why is this role important for IDEO’s work?

Recruiters make the biggest impact by identifying great talent who align with IDEO’s values, and they manage the candidate experience while balancing the expectations of hiring managers. Their skill set is critical to our business because they are ambassadors of the IDEO brand and also ambassadors for the candidates.

Once here you will

  • Work collaboratively with the Chicago Recruiting team and other Recruiting teams across all IDEO locations
  • Build relationships and partner with hiring managers to understand the business needs of the team and how the new hire will complement and push our work
  • Facilitate internal conversations with interview teams to build alignment on must-have skills/attributes before launching a search, as well as facilitating debrief discussions after interviews to build alignment on next steps
  • Proactively and creatively source candidates
  • Professionally interface with candidates
  • Drive the recruiting process forward by problem solving obstacles or challenges that arise and knowing when and how to involve others as necessary
  • Drive consensus among multiple stakeholders to bring hiring issues to a successful conclusion  
  • Manage full life-cycle recruitment processes including job postings, coordination of resume flow, diligent candidate correspondence, and maintenance of candidate records via our applicant tracking system

Relevant experience

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience (could be coordinating, teaching, recruiting, etc.)
  • Good discretion­ and sound judgment in dealing with confidential dialogues and information
  • Strong facilitation skills to enable fruitful discussions among colleagues
  • Enthusiastic and motivated self-starter who is not afraid to ask questions and has a natural focus on making things happen
  • Works well with a variety of working styles and personalities
  • Comfortable scheduling interviews
