OpenIDEO is in search of contract Community Design Researchers--two in Miami and two in Pittsburgh--who will lead embedded ethnographic research from February to March 2018 to uncover opportunities addressing access and mobility in their cities. We are searching for local candidates in Miami and Pittsburgh since the work involves face-to-face research activities in the city. We will begin interviews the week of January 29. If this posting is still public, we are still searching for candidates.
Community Design Researchers have a unique vantage point. They live, work and breathe their cities—making them the best-positioned people to understand the needs around access to mobility. They make the biggest impact by leading community design research, synthesizing these findings, and clearly presenting these insights in a cohesive body of work. Their skill set is critical to our work because community designers create deep empathy to ensure our design work is underpinned by a strong, human-centered foundation. We count on them to uncover insights by spending time with people, conduct thoughtful qualitative community research while passionately integrating it with quantitative research. This role is for you if you’re excited to leverage research skills and the power of equitable, inclusive design to transform lives while envisioning new solutions and opportunities.
OpenIDEO is a place unlike any other. It’s a place that offers you the opportunity to deepen your design thinking and design research skills sets while addressing some of the world’s most urgent problems. Receive mentorship and work alongside thoughtful, intelligent individuals who lead with curiosity, empathy, and optimism.
OpenIDEO is a global community working together to design solutions for the world’s biggest challenges. Check out our website to learn about our work, team, and network.
