Experience Intern

In a Nutshell:

We are seeking an Experience Intern to support the experience team’s efforts to help with the staging and delivery of extraordinary experiences. You will help support the success of design teams and our studio’s internal community from both an operational and cultural perspective, through a variety of daily responsibilities.

Once here you will:

  • Support the design and execution of internal, external and client facing events.  This could include brainstorming ideas, ordering supplies and food, and helping with set up for many different kinds of events such as:
    • An intimate client dinner in our space.
    • A baby shower for an expecting IDEO mom.
    • A large outdoor summer party for our employees and their families.
  • Order gifts for special occasions with an eye on creating a special moment for our employees.
  • Create bespoke care packages for employees traveling to other locations.
  • Be aware of moments when you can add some IDEO magic to teams, events, or the space.  Previous moments of magic include; a hot chocolate cart on a cold winter day and a visit by an ice cream truck in the summer.
  • Act as a backup coverage for the front desk as needed.
  • Help with general office upkeep and care.

Relevant Experience:

  • Experience in a customer focused role, preferably in the hospitality industry.  We prefer candidates who are currently working toward a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management.
  • Experience using Google Drive and excellent internet search skills are required.
  • Proven excellence at time-management and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to assist with moving boxes and furniture (up to 40lbs) occasionally and ability to regularly load and unload dishwashers.
  • Knowledge or curiosity about restaurants and events in Boston a plus.
