Accounts Payable Specialist

In a nutshell:

IDEO's Finance Team is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will be joining a dynamic team who work closely to provide partnership and support to IDEO.


Once here you will:

  • Review all invoices and check requests for appropriate documentation and approvals prior to payment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all vendor invoices for the Bay Area locations.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Reconcile and process the Bay Area Travel credit card transactions.
  • Process weekly EFT payments and vendor checks
  • Assist in developing more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Assist with month-end close duties, as well as, account reconciliations, annual financial audit and 1099 maintenance
  • Serves as Expensify and corporate credit card administration backup
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Relevant experience and mindset:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting , Finance or related field.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Dynamics 365, Expensify or any other accounting based software.
  • Highly organized and focused, with exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Experience in handling high volume of accounts payable invoices in a fast pace environment.
  • Experience and desire to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, multi task, and be self-directed.
