Message Web Station Streetspace is an internet-based service that offers its users free e-mail access, web browsing, community conversation, and personalized online information. The Streetspace service will be accessible through standard web browsers; additionally, in selected cities, Streetspace will install hundreds of Web Stations in high-traffic public spaces such as streets and malls and in retail establishments such as coffeehouses and restaurants. IDEO provided industrial design for the Web Station that is sleek but extremely rugged. The cast aluminum terminal needed to as indestructible as a parking meter while providing easy service access.
