Message Spaces IDEO is constantly seeking new ways to advance innovation through collaboration. As IDEO expanded into more global locations, a need arose for a new knowledge-sharing system to support collaboration and connect people, ideas and groups. IDEO turned to its own human-centered design process to address the challenge. Through rounds of prototyping and refinement, The Tube, IDEO’s award-winning, proprietary suite of online collaboration tools was born. IDEO employees quickly adopted The Tube as way to learn from each other, stay connected, and build on shared inspiration and content. As employee adoption increased and collaboration thrived, IDEO observed that its clients were still grappling with off-the-shelf knowledge-sharing systems that centered on technological capabilities instead of the way people actually work. It became clear there was an opportunity in the collaboration space to create a new offering inspired by people’s needs and behaviors. To fill this gap, IDEO partnered with Moxie (formerly nGenera), an enterprise software solutions company, to create Spaces by Moxie, a customizable platform that enables collaboration by putting people - not technology - first. Informed and inspired IDEO’s learnings from The Tube, Spaces by Moxie can be easily customized to integrate into organizations’ cultures and workflow needs, internal structures, and legacy data sources, rather than requiring people to adapt to a system.
