The SmartBox provides a secure and convenient pick-up and drop-off container that sits outside a home or business. When a parcel arrives. the SmartBox can be accessed using a one-time keycode that expires once the parcel is placed securely in the box.The box connects wirelessly to the Internet to enable real-time delivery notification to all parties—the owner, the merchant, and the carrier—and specialized software and secure Internet accounts allow for reports and shipping management.

IDEO's multidisciplinary team created a complete solution for Brivo.The box has a distinctive physical design that is visually compatible with the outside home environment and easily recognizable by delivery people, yet is robust enough to withstand a wide variety of environmental conditions—from San Diego summers to Maine winters. The water-resistant control panel hides under a swing-away cover—a simple touch allows delivery agents to open the box, and also gives the owner access to customizable function keys to personalize how the Brivo Box is used.

The Brivo SmartBox greatly increases the convenience of online ordering, and eliminates missed packages and multiple delivery attempts by parcel services. It provides a theft-and weather-resistant solution to unattended parcel delivery and greatly enhances the delivery process for all involved.
