The concepts in Heimspiel (German for "home play") embed technology into the fabric of everyday life. From brainstorm sessions addressing how people interact with objects on an everyday basis, what they think and feel, the design team arrived at a series of simple yet strong product ideas that put the user experience in the center. The designers took the opportunity to initiate concept projects free from market constraints and production feasibility in order to spark discourse, provide inspiration, invite criticism, and have fun.

"Enter/Do Not Enter" renders a door inaccessible. The outside handle sinks completely into the door surface, telling the outside world whether entry is permissible or not. "Enter with Light" brings light to the door edge and, consequently, light into dark. The light turns on when the door is opened and spills into the room as the door rotates. "Message On-line" swells the telephone cable as messages are received, showing through a blinking light the number of messages stored.

"HiddenScale" uses the form of the common tile to integrate the scale into the room architecture. "Visible Warmth" illuminates the radiator control knob with an intensity responding to the radiator's warmth, allowing the temperature to be seen at a glance. The control buttons on "Soft Sound" are integrated in the pillow's stitched-in label, to allow the listener to get close to the music without having to wear headphones. "Sound Switch" takes advantage of the existing infrastructure of electrical outlets. The radio as a standalone product disappears; the light switch becomes a radio.
