Novacor Left Ventricular Assist System

For Baxter's Novacor division, IDEO industrial designers developed an ergonomic form and conducted extensive human factors testing to create the Left Ventricular Assist System.

As part of the interaction design for the project, IDEO created simulations of audio alarms to test the noticeability and perceived urgency of different alarm alternatives.
