Pascal Soboll
About
Pascal joined IDEO in 2001 after graduating from the Stanford University with a master’s in product design. Since then, he’s been involved in a cavalcade of conceptual design and innovation projects.
His formal training is in physics and product design. While at Stanford, Pascal worked as a research assistant for the university’s Rapid Prototyping Lab, where he explored new manufacturing methods for complex parts. His background is in theoretical physics, which he studied at the University of Frankfurt/Main, Germany, from 1995 to 1999. For his thesis, he investigated new applications and methods of chaos theory to engineering problems.
He worked at DaimlerChrysler’s R&D facility and in automotive design in Germany before moving to the United States. Pascal has lectured at Stanford, Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, and the D-School in Potsdam, Germany.
