Elizabeth Spenko, a Business Design specialist at IDEO in Chicago, excels in bridging the gap between imaginative, forward-thinking design solutions and real-world business strategies. Since joining IDEO, she has worked in close collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams on projects ranging from large-scale sporting events and mass-market retail experience design.

Prior to joining IDEO, Elizabeth spent many years surrounded by container cranes and locomotives at Norbridge, a small management-consulting firm in Massachusetts. At Norbridge, she lead numerous strategic planning and pricing projects for ports and railroads, as well as managed various brand and corporate strategy projects for pharmaceutical, device, and consumer packaged-goods companies. Later, at a Chicago-based business incubator and venture-capital firm called Sandbox Industries, Elizabeth helped launch consumer products and technology start-ups.

Elizabeth earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s in economics from Northwestern University. Her sweet tooth and love of cheese, however, are things she was born with.
