About
Andy, an Associate Partner, was the founding manager of IDEO’s Shanghai office. For over a decade, he has led our Manufacturing discipline, a group of engineers and scientists who inspire clients and designers with new ways of thinking about materials, processes, and mass production. During his tenure with IDEO, Andy has worked on and managed myriad programs, from developing traditional consumer, industrial, and medical products to rethinking teaching and learning in pharmaceutical manufacturing. He is holder of numerous patents and patents pending.
Andy serves on the Board for NOVA Workforce Development, a non-profit that works to align Silicon Valley’s workforce with the Valley’s ever-changing industrial makeup while also providing help to jobseekers in transition. Andy is a lecturer in the School of Engineering at Stanford University, an artisan cheese maker, a pianist, and when not recovering from intercontinental jet lag, he enjoys cycling long distances.
